Spread the word: Now and early in the fall are the times that students are most looking for a place with a good teacher and ensemble opportunities to hang their musical hat. I truly appreciate students and parents recommending the studio to others of like mind about the importance of music and music education!
Thoughts: As schedules get tighter and kids get older I am always amazed and impressed with the ability of my studio students and families to value what is really important in life and in a child’s education, and how much our work together has to do with exactly that. It has been another rich and rewarding year for all of us and I can’t tell you how much I value each and every one of you and treasure our work together. I always look forward to the recital as the yearly gathering of our community and the culmination and celebration of our year’s work.read more

Rehearsals of solos with accompanist: held at Chad Hardin’s studio, which is the back room of the Christian Science Church, entrance by the side door off the driveway. Parking is available anywhere on the Green. Putting the schedule together is quite tricky, so signups need to be done through me at the beginning of your child’s lesson this week, or by phone in the evening after lessons. Each student needs to sign up for two rehearsals, the first of which must be in May because of pianist availability. All weekend rehearsals will be coached by both Chad and myself. Those who need to do weeknight rehearsals will be coached by Chad alone. The second rehearsal is your dress rehearsal, primarily to run through the piece with the accompanist. To make this work and run smoothly, your call time for rehearsal is a minimum of 10 minutes in advance of when you are scheduled to play, and you should allot 40 minutes total in case we need to respond to any musical issues. We typically run pretty close to the scheduled time. Parents, please stay to take notes and a video of your child’s rehearsal. It is a delightful space to work and hang out in.
